Nini Nguyen didn’t believe it at first when her friend pointed out that Rihanna—the chart-topping singer-slash-cover girl—started following @ninistyle on Instagram. The social media platform was fairly new and the Dallas stylist only had around 40 followers. Sure enough, a few months later, @badgalriri commented on one of Nguyen’s images, “How do I start working with you???” Nguyen posted her phone number and 10 minutes later Rihanna was ringing the stylist’s cell. “I was the first one she trusted to get in her closet,” Nguyen says.
