Texas surpasses 4 million total COVID-19 cases. Pfizer booster is now available across Texas.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,074 new cases and 17 deaths on Monday.


Texas surpasses 4 million total COVID-19 cases nearly 19 months since the first reported case of the disease, The Dallas Morning News Reports. The state reached 2 million total cases in January, and 3 million in July, according to state health department data. Texas’ reported cases are second-highest to California with 4.7 million total cases.


Pfizer COVID-19 booster is available across North Texas for people 65 or older, or at a higher risk. Locations offering a booster shot as of 9/27 include Parkland Hospital and CVS Pharmacies, reported by KERA. Denton County will be sending scheduling links to eligible people who received shots through the county’s public health department.


Dallas ISD is hosting free COVID-19 vaccination clinics at campuses throughout the district, DISD The HUB reports. DISD staff and students over 12 years can receive first and second COVID-19 vaccines across Dallas. As a safety measure, community members can also receive services if clinics take place outside of school buildings. Find contact information and a location nearest you here.
