CDC says children only need 3 feet of space at school. White Texans are being vaccinated six times the rate of Black Texans.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reports 227 new positive COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths from Sunday and Monday. “Our weekly average of COVID positive cases is 257, 40 cases lower than last week’s average,” he tweeted. 


The CDC now says that K-12 should maintain a distance of 3 feet, but only if everyone is wearing masks. The change comes from new data that suggests that physical distancing of at least 3 feet in classrooms can be safely adopted as Americans continue to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. Baylor Scott and White Health has launched a mobile operation to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for residents in underserved populations reports KERA. 


White Texans are being vaccinated at twice the rate of Hispanic Texans and six times the rate of Black Texans, the Texas Tribune reports. Those groups have been disproportionately impacted by the virus as well.
