Governor Greg Abbott says that the hospital built in the Dallas Convention Center will have 250 beds for coronavirus patients, but it could end up as large as 1,400 beds if necessary, The Dallas Morning News reports.
Monday’s inclement weather means that Dallas County’s coronavirus testing sites will be closed Monday, Fox 4 reports. They plan to open up again on Tuesday.
As more COVID-19 cases pop up in senior living communities, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has added further restrictions to the facilities, who are not allowed to accept new residents. WFAA reports that he recommended that elderly be removed from them if possible.
Abbott has ordered those driving from Louisiana to self-quarantine for 14 days. Anyone who flies in from Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, California, and Washington are also ordered to quarantine, the Texas Tribune says.
