DFW Hospital Council To Give Distinguished Health Service Award To Tarrant County Health Leader

Charlie Powell’s day job is as CEO of Ciera Bank.

The chair of the JPS Health Network board will receive the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council’s Distinguished Health Service Award at the organization’s annual awards luncheon in October.

Charlie Powell, who is also the president and CEO of Ciera Bank, is the recipient. Powell’s been involved in several other community-related capacities outside the above-mentioned, health-related ones, including stints at the Fort Worth Economic Development Council, Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, and Texas Can Academy Foundation. He’s also the current chair of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Regional Council.

“Charlie Powell has been a respected banker in North Texas for many years, but he is also an unparalleled leader in our community,” said Steve Love, CEO of DFWHC, in a statement.

DFWHC’s Annual Awards Luncheon is set for Oct. 17. Past Distinguished Health Service Award winners include names like T. Boone Pickens, Ray and Nancy Ann Hunt, and Ross and Margot Perot.
