Medical City Children’s Adds Veteran Pediatric Orthopedics Surgeon

Medical City Children’s Hospital has named a new medical director of pediatric orthopedics and pediatric orthopedic trauma.

Shyam Kishan joins the 156-bed hospital from Indianapolis-based Riley Hospital for Children, where he was associate professor of pediatric orthopedics. While at Riley, he led the launch of a new regional center for the treatment of children with pediatric spinal deformities.

Kishan went to medical school and completed residencies in Bombay and New Jersey. Board-certified in the U.S. and India, he completed a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and Scoliosis Fellowship at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He’s fluent in English, French, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, and Tamil.

Dr. Kishan joins Medical City Children’s Hospital as medical director of pediatric orthopedics and pediatric orthopedic trauma.

“Dr. Kishan’s expertise and leadership treating various orthopedic conditions brings a wealth of specialized knowledge to our pediatric orthopedic program,” said Bill Lee, CEO of Medical City Children’s Hospital, in a release.

In his new role, Kishan will lead a pediatric orthopedics team that treats conditions ranging from trauma to infections, tumors, and limb and spinal deformities.
