High patient satisfaction levels at both the Zale Lipshy University Hospital and the Multi-Specialty Clinic at UT Southwestern Medical Center landed the facilities the 2014 Press Ganey Beacon of Excellence Award.

The honor recognizes high-performing healthcare facilities. It is the second straight year Zale Lipshy has won the award.

Indiana-based Press Ganey surveys more than 11,000 healthcare facilities across the country to judge patient experience and then issues 40 Beacon Awards to the highest performing. UT Southwestern also received other patient satisfaction awards from Press Ganey in 2011 and 2012.

“UT Southwestern is steadfastly committed to patient satisfaction. It is the backbone of the health care we provide on a daily basis,” said Dr. John Warner, Vice President and CEO of University Hospitals at UT Southwestern, in a statement. “This award reflects our commitment to patients, and it showcases the extra effort our hospital staff makes to ensure the highest quality patient care and experience.”

The Multi-Specialty Clinic, in the Outpatient Building at UT Southwestern, is staffed with experts in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Physicians specialize in the managing chronic diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and high blood pressure.

When UT Southwestern’s William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital opens in December, Zale Lipshy will become the region’s first freestanding neuroscience facility, one of only a few in the country.
