American Cancer Society Report Shows Decline in Smoking and Slow Growing Obesity Rates

|

The American Cancer Society released its 2013 Cancer Prevention & Early Detection Facts & Figures (CPED) report Thursday. Though the report shows some encouraging numbers, ACS admits continued challenges in changing behaviors and risk factors in order to reduce cancer deaths.

The report examines the prevalence of tobacco use, obesity, physical inactivity and the use of established screening tests. It found a decline in the nation’s tobacco use, as well as a stabilizing obesity rate among Americans.
