Medical City Dallas Hospital has hired an experienced healthcare executive as its new chief operating officer. Charles Gressle, a 16-year industry veteran, will begin his new post on Aug. 13.
Gressle comes to Medical City from HCA’s Continental Division, where he served as senior vice president and oversaw growth strategies for operations in Denver, Oklahoma, and Wichita. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer at The Women’s Hospital of Texas, where, among other things, he managed a $78 million tower expansion and led a growth initiative that helped make the system No. 1 in Houston.
“Charles has a combination of hospital operations, strategy and development, and service-line management that make him a perfect fit for Medical City,” said Erol Akdamar, Medical City CEO, in a statement. “He is an exceptional communicator and has shown a great ability to work collaboratively with physicians.”
Based in Dallas and founded in 1974, Medical City has a team of more than 1,150 physicians. Its part of HCA North Texas, a group of 10 hospitals, a children’s hospital, psychiatric hospital, 12 ambulatory surgery centers, 13 imaging centers, an oncology center, and a freestanding emergency room in Dallas-Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.
