State Fair of Texas Picture of the Day: Oct. 18

Joanne Hill returns to Fair Park with an iconic photo of her own.

Last week 84-year-old Joanne Hill returned to Fair Park carrying a copy of an iconic 1951 photograph for which she posed (as that year’s Cotton Bowl Queen) in 1951. We featured the original image in our Ghosts of Dallas series last year.

Her daughter reports that Hill was a bit of a celebrity during her visit, even having Mayor Mike Rawlings eager to pose with her:
