Best Photo Op in History of Photography: Dwaine Caraway With 1 Million Condoms

This will happen tomorrow, which, as you probably know, is International Condom Day. There is only one way that this photo op could be improved, and that is if instead of 1 million condoms, Councilman Caraway accepted a donation of 1 million dildos (which also promote safe sex, it should be noted). Councilmember Dwaine R. Caraway accepts donation of 1 million condoms from AIDS Healthcare Foundation in honor of International Condom Day Feb. 13

WHAT: AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest global AIDS organization, is bolstering the city of Dallas’ public health offerings by donating one million free condoms to Dallas County Health and Human Services.

To announce the donation, AHF and Dallas officials are hosting a press conference at 1 p.m. Thursday Feb. 13 in the Flag Room on the sixth floor of Dallas City Hall.

The donations and press conference are connected to International Condom Day, an awareness day promoting safer sex through condom use observed annually on February 13 around the world, in conjunction with Valentine’s Day. This year, AHF is hosting condom distribution events in 28 countries.

AHF is also marking International Condom Day with donations to state health departments in need of condoms, such as Dallas County Health and Human Services. Additional condom donations include five million free condoms given to multiple county health departments throughout North Carolina and about 4.5 million free condoms donated to more than 195 non-government organizations that requested them.

“Condoms have long proven to be among the most effective and reliable methods of preventing the spread of HIV and STDs, and all sexually active individuals should have the opportunity to access condoms for free or at very low cost,” said Bret Camp, Texas Regional Director for AHF.
