Lake Highlands Schools on Lockdown While Police Investigate Sexual Assault

|

Twelve Lake Highlands-area schools are currently on lockdown, as police search the area for a suspected rapist. Sources told the Morning News that a  woman was allegedly attacked this morning near Aldwick Drive and Lanshire Drive. Her attacker allegedly dragged her out of her shower, and tried to place a pillow over her face while assaulting her.

The attack is the third similar attack in the Lake Highlands area in recent weeks. Lake Highlands High School, Lake Highland Junior High, Wallace Elementary, Lake Highlands Elementary, Northlake Elementary, White Rock Elementary, Lake Highlands Freshman Center, Skyview Elementary, Thurgood Marshall Elementary, Moss Haven Elementary, Merriman Park Elementary, and Forest Meadow Junior High are included in the lockdown.

“All students are accounted for and all students are safe,” Richardson ISD spokesman Tim Clark told CBS. “Nothing has happened on an R.I.S.D campus or on R.I.S.D property. It’s in situations like this when there is escalating police activity in the neighborhood – we think it’s most prudent to just bring kids inside.”

Dallas PD is expected to make a statement regarding the investigation this afternoon. Updates as they come.
