Fernando Munoz Not Responsible For First Lake Highlands Rape, As Police Believed Yesterday

|

There was just a quick presser about the string of Lake Highlands rapes, and it brought some interesting news: the man police believed was responsible for the first rape is not responsible. From the department’s Facebook page:

Today SWIFS released their findings into forensic evidence collected from the February 22nd Sexual Assault offense on Ferndale Road. The DNA profile from that offense does not match the DNA profile obtained from Fernando Munoz. The DNA profile from the February 22nd offense has been entered into evidence databases.  Findings are yet to be determined. DNA analysis of forensic evidence from the March 15th and 19th offenses is on-going.  Those findings will be compared to the results from the February 22nd offense.
