John Wiley Price Had a Crummy Wardrobe

|

This afternoon after lunch I began reading the FBI affidavit that explains why the agency believes it should be allowed to keep the $229,590 in U.S. currency that it found in John Wiley Price’s home safe. It’s a long affidavit. Our WordPress server won’t even let me upload it because the file is too big. Go to Unfair Park if you want a copy of your own (that’s where I got mine). But, really, you don’t want to read it. It’ll make your head spin. Bank account after bank account. Open, close. African art. Grady Niblo. And on and on. Exhausting.

But here’s one tidbit you might enjoy: in 1996, when Price filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the declared value of his clothing was $700. Have you ever seen John Wiley Price out in public? I bet the man doesn’t own a single pair of slacks that are worth less than $700.
