Stoneleigh Hotel Memory-Havers Eligible For Contest

|

A PR-practicing FrontBurnervian asked that I pass along news of a contest. The Stoneleigh Hotel is offering a free weekend stay, spa treatments, and more to the winners of the Stoneleigh Memories contest. Those with tales from overnight stays, visits to the Lion’s Den, or general debauchery are invited to submit your recollections here, or via the other modes it suggests. In my mind, no matter who wins, it will be the second-best story about the Stoneleigh. A.C. Greene’s “Heartbreak Hotel” from 1977 is still the best story D has ever published.

My own submissions would include (namedrop alerts): interviewing Shane Carruth at the Lion’s Den and then never hearing from him again (the guy disappeared), dropping off my then-idol Noah Baumbach at the hotel … along with my pseudo-date who decided to spend the night with him (nothing happened, she swore), and having my first real date with my now wife at the sushi bar that is no longer. Ah, Stoneleigh.
