Probably the only hockey championship Dallas can expect to see for quite some time

|

And it’s my favorite kind of hockey: not ice, not tonsil, but air hockey. The 2007 Texas State Open Air Hockey Tournament will be held in Plano at the Southfork Hotel August 24-26. There will be special guest appearances from Philip Crossman, the founding father of the sport, as well as current world champion (that’s right) Davis Lee Huynh. All ages can enter; singles or doubles can play. Enrollment is open to the public, but sign up before July 24 and save $10 on the registration fee.

The fact that I’ll be out of town the weekend of the tourney is making me a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. I’ll give you a topic: Which title is more prestigious–air hockey champion or air guitar champion? Discuss.
