There is a day or week for seemingly everything. Just as a quick round-up, we have National Guacamole Day (Sept. 16), National Cheeseburger Day (Sept. 18), National Queso Day (Sept. 20), National Quesadilla Day (Sept. 25), and National Pancake Day (Sept. 26) on the immediate horizon. This week, Sept. 13-17, happens to be the week made to celebrate Negronis, the classic, sophisticated, bitter Italian cocktail. Since 2013, Imbibe magazine and Campari have partnered to launch the annual week of libation-soaked charitable donations.

The Negroni: a triumvirate of gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. The money it has raised for charities selected by participants: $3 million to date.

One of my colleagues quickly chimed in that he had a Negroni in a parklet in little Italy in Baltimore last week.

Here is where bartenders are shaking them up in Dallas.

Check out our 22 participating bars and restaurants. Artists of spirit and ice from Midnight Rambler, Ellen’s, and the new Atlas in the Bishop Arts District have taken the refreshing, bracing, citrusy tipple for a spin. And, in some cases, they’re featuring a twist like a coffee Negroni that goes dark and stormy on us. Or a white Negroni. Or a Smoke and Mirrors that plays fast and loose with mezcal and orange bitters. Another version shakes things up with rum, lime, and agave. Or, if you’d rather, a strawberry-infused gin, pineapple, and lemon (we see you, HGSply Co.).

The nifty Dallas landing page allows you to click on them and see the charity that will receive proceeds.

For those not wanting to brave the bars, you can snag swag and rock Negroni cocktail napkins for your home-shaken sips. We’ll raise a glass to you from Eataly.
