If you want to learn to sing “Good King Wenceslas” once and for all, on Sunday you’ll have your chance when Verdigris Ensemble pops up at Peticolas Brewery for an evening of tunes and carousing.

“Infamous and beloved for their tipsy tunelessness, karaoke nights at bars attract crooners of all abilities to share in the joy of singing with friends. Inspired by these karaoke nights, Sam Brukhman, artistic director of Verdigris Ensemble, saw the opportunity to harness the joyfully volatile combination of drink and song,” the press release states.

The Peticolas Drink & Sing is the second stop for an event that began at White Rock Alehouse in October (Oktoberfest season), the same month I wrote about the ensemble in the magazine. The modern choral ensemble, which constantly pushes boundaries, chose bars and breweries for their informality.

Get your throat ready for carols and brews on tap.

December 1, 7pm. Tickets $6-7 (which may be purchased at the door or online here) include a songbook and Verdigris beer glass.
