The Tastings International Review of Spirits Competition took place in Chicago earlier this week. Over 90 vodkas entered the race, but only one emerged on top. And that winner, Duckworth Truffle Vodka, is made at Duckworth Distillery off Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. Former winemakers Julia and Lee Foster Fuqua are at the helm.

Duckworth Distillery has been making three types of vodkas for a grand total of 10 months. Yet this week their vodka with noticeable flecks of black truffles floating around the bottle, received the highest rating (95) and these glowing tasting notes:

Style: Complex & herbal Aroma: roasted truffles and clam chowder  Flavor: truffle buttered mashed potatoes, lemon chiffon, and minerals  Smoothness: Smooth Enjoy: in cocktails and on the rocks  Cocktails: Bloody Mary, Sangrita, Vodka Martini Bottom Line: A vibrantly, pure and delicious truffle-flavored vodka for bold savory cocktails.

Duckworth Premium Sipping Vodka received 92 points and Duckworth French Oak Barrel Vodka scored 90. All of the vodkas are available at Total Wines, Goody Goody, Pogos, and many more stores and restaurants.
