The Scoop: Mobile Meals, New Pizza Restaurants and More Dallas Food News

There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish. Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

UberEATS launches in Dallas: The mobile food delivery service is now available in Dallas. According to the release: “It’s the same cashless payment as an Uber ride. All you need to do is open the app, select the EATS option, choose your meal, tap a button to place your order, and the meal will be delivered curbside within 10 minutes. Users will have a choice each day between three meals from three different restaurants, plus desserts or drinks.” Participating restaurants include Bread Winners Café, Dish, Malai Kitchen, Norma’s Café, Fireside Pies, Joy Macarons, Urban Taco, and more.

Olivella’s announces new location: The popular Dallas-based restaurant is slated to open a fifth location the heart of the new Gables Water Street mixed-use development in Las Colinas in 2017. According to the release, the 2,700-square-foot space will offer a large outdoor patio.

Moe’s Southwest Grill to open in Farmers Branch: The fast-casual Southwest restaurant opens Thursday, November 12. According to the release: “Each meal is created-to-order in a way that is as unique as the people Moe’s serves. With honestly good ingredients like all-natural chicken, grass-fed steak, organic tofu and handcrafted guacamole, Moe’s offers a wide variety of options to meet guest’s unique tastes and lifestyle. And no matter the meal, guests can always count on getting free chips and salsa.” Moe’s is located at 13701 Midway Road Dallas, TX 75244 and will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza now open at SMU: Dallas is now home to more pizza. According to the release: “With recipes developed in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Smith, who also was just named national Chef Innovator of the Year by Nation’s Restaurant News, SPIN! features exceptional food made from fresh ingredients, local beers and a rotating roster of eclectic premium wines priced below traditional restaurant rates…In addition to a diverse selection of traditional thin-and-bubbly crust, rustic whole wheat, and gluten-free pizzas, SPIN! serves an array of appetizers, soups, salads, signature Panini and Italian deli sandwiches, and gelato ice creams.” SPIN! also has locations in Richardson, Las Colinas, and Southlake. The new SMU outpost is located at 5627 SMU Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75206

Top Pot Doughnuts at KDC’s CityLine to open on November 12: The third Texas Top Pot location is slated to open on Thursday, November 12 at the new Richardson CityLine development located at 1251 State Street. The Seattle-based doughnut and coffee shop features fresh roasted coffee, handmade doughnuts, and soft serve ice cream. Top Pot Doughnuts will be open daily from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
