Driftwood is closed for repairs.

I just heard that Driftwood, the lovely seafood restaurant in Oak Cliff, did not open today. I called co-owner Michael Martensen who says they had to close because of a plumbing issue. “We had one guy say they were going to have to rip up the entire kitchen,” Martensen says. “We’re getting estimates on getting it taken care of.”

Driftwood is owned by Martensen and his partner Sal Jafar II who also operate Proof+ Pantry. Their corporate name, Misery Loves Company, now seems appropriate. Martensen says most of the Driftwood employees are now at P+P. Stay tuned for when (or if) they get the problem solved.
