Tequila Day, Scotch Day, and Belgian Beer Week are all happening. Here are some places to celebrate.

If the fact that National Tequila Day is only two days away, Belgian Beer Week is in full swing, and National Scotch Day is Sunday doesn’t scream that it’s going to be a good week, then you definitely need to hit happy hour early today.

For the wine lovers:

If you plan on keeping a low profile before the weekend hits, then head to The Grape for their special Chef’s Come-As-You-Are wine dinner on Thursday evening. Showcasing wines from the Piedmont region of Italy, Chef Jed Demler will prepare an intimate 3-course menu to complement each hand-selected wine. Keep it casual, eat at your own pace and chat one-on-one with wine expert Bianca Christi of Virtuoso Selections. Reservations are available from 5:30-9:00 pm at the price of $48 per person. Call 214-828-1981 to book your table.

This month’s Wine Poste Celebrity Chef Dinner will feature local Celebrity Chef Tiffany Derry this Friday. Think communal and you might imagine the setting of this five-course dinner that will feature on-hand cooking from Chef Tiffany and hand-picked wine pairings from the Wine Poste staff. Each wine served will be available for purchase, so guests can keep the night going even after the plates are cleaned. This dinner is $110 and is only open to 44 individuals.

For the beer lovers:

Social House will host a beer pairing dinner tonight at its Addison location and tomorrow at its Uptown location starting at 7:00 pm. The five-course meal will include complimentary glasses of Odell Brewing Company beer paired with dishes like Diver Scallops, Sonoma Greens, Rabbit Dumplings, Grilled Lamb and a Summer Fruit Salad. Pick your night, call to reserve a spot and have $45 ready to enjoy this night that will most likely get a little social.

Belgium National Day hit yesterday, and because we are such a loving country, we like to celebrate our international friends throughout the week. That, and we just really like Belgian beer. The Holy Grail Pub will host a tulip glass giveaway and bold tapping each day through Friday to make sure you get your appreciation in at least one day or all five.

Beer is a serious topic of discussion, and starting this Thursday, you can get the scoop on local and national beer issues, beer history, live sampling and interviews with local beer businesses, courtesy of beer expert Tait Lifto from Rabbit Hole Brewing. Tait has been around the brewery block and knows his stuff from beer blogging, judging, teaching, studying and interviewing. This guy doesn’t fool around. Catch the show from 1:00-2:00 pm here with guest Corey Pond, owner of The Common Table.

If you were one of the unfortunate ones like myself that didn’t get snag a ticket to Bishop Cider Company’s grand opening party like the rest of the cool kids, then take a sigh of relief because they are giving us a second chance. This Thursday they will host a Retailer Launch Party at Craft & Growler starting at 6:00 pm. For $12 you get a gold-rimmed glass filled with one of their first three ciders. However, all three ciders will flow through the evening and with names like Cat Scratch Fever, Suicider and Cideways, I would say you’re in for a good night.

For the cocktail lovers:

Boulevardier and I are on the same wavelength and think National Tequila Day should kick off a little early. This week’s Tuesday Evening of $5 Cocktails will involve four craft cocktails with Patron Reposado. From 4:30-10:00 pm, enjoy the Old Fashioned, Noche Rojo, Burro de Durazno or Ricky Ricardo for $5. My suggestion is get your money’s worth, try them all and take a cab back home. That’s a Tuesday done right.

Didn’t you see me say that National Tequila Day and National Scotch Day both hit this week? Specials will be flying, but I’ll give you two solid suggestions. Come Thursday go for a classic Gloria’s margarita paired with their sinful black bean dip and when Sunday rolls around try brunch at The Second Floor for one of the largest scotch selections in the area.
