Food Roots and EatGreenDFW.com have teamed up again for a farm tour and wine tasting. The one-day tour begins at JuHa Ranch in Barry then proceeds to Ennis for lunch at the Brown Street Café and Kolache Depot. Stops in Oak Grove Farms, which includes a wine tasting by Calais Winery, and Garden Harvests round out the tour. “We wanted to show how well wines paired with vegetables,” said Mary Kimbrough of Food Roots. “We chose Calais’s Cuvee de Juillet, a Pinot Gris and it’s Cuvee du Commerce, a Cabernet/Syrah blend. We’ll taste them with vegetables provided by Oak Grove and some neighboring producers invited by owner Tommy Copeland and Calais owner Benjamin Calais will be on hand to answer questions.” Details on the July 11th trip and tickets here. Cost for the tour is $89 per person.
