Kristen and Mitch Kauffman closed their Urbano Paninoteca last December. Today they announced their new restaurant, Urbano is now open for lunch and dinner. The website isn’t up yet, but the doors to the 100-year old building they’re housed in is open. Urbano is sandwiched between Jimmy’s Food Store and Tom Spicer’s FM 1410. Jump for more details.
Pardon the mass email, but we want to tell you that Urbano has reopened in its new location at 1410-C Fitzhugh at Bryan –yup, right behind Jimmy’s in Old East Dallas! Our new hours are 11 a.m. 4 p.m. for lunch Monday through Saturday. Next we’ll begin dinner service on Thursday – Saturday from 4 – 10 p.m.
On our lunch menu, you’ll find some old favorites (parmesan crusted chicken, tomato basil soup, shoestring fries and more) plus some new items that we are excited for you to try — we did menu tastings yesterday and we got some hearty thumbs up on new items like the pulled pork sandwich, the new steak sandwich and the 1410 salad.
We’ll post the new menu online as soon as we can (www.urbanodallas.com) but this opening a new restaurant thing is a lot of work and our main focus has been creating the menu with Chef Ke’o Velasquez and getting our 100-year-old building into shape!
