Dali Wine Bar & Restaurant, Dallas’ premier wine restaurant and retailer, is proud to honor the prestige wines from Peter Spann Vineyards in a wine dinner on Thursday, April 2, 2009.  “It’s a hero’s homecoming after leaving Dallas and now returning with stellar wines from his own Sonoma vineyards—both joyous and romantic with first-class wines”, states Dali proprietor Paul Pinnell.”  Acclaimed Dali chef, Joel A Harloff, will be pairing a five-course dinner with Spann Vineyards wines that include; Chardonnay-Viognier Blend, Sonoma County 2005 (59% Chardonnay, 41% Viognier), Betsy’s Backacher, North Coast Lot 5 (25% Merlot, 25% Petite Sirah, 21% Carbono, 17% Cab Sauv, 12% Syrah) Mo Zin, California (42% Zinfandel, 30% Mourvedre, 20% Petite Sirah, 8% Syrah), Merlot, Sonoma County 2006 (85% Merlot, 15% Cab Sauv) and his most acclaimed wine—Mo Jo, Sonoma County 2005 (50% Sangiovese, 35% Cab Sauv, 10% Syrah, 30% Cab Franc, 2% Malbec).

The Peter Spann philosophy of winemaking is as follows: “Our experience with the wines of great producers around the world has been invaluable. We take the best ideas and techniques we’ve learned from European and California winemakers and apply them to our wines.
We strive to create food-friendly, unique wines that are memorable yet blend seamlessly into the occasion. Memorable in their purity, authenticity, distinctiveness, and enjoyment–seamless in how they integrate into the setting–whether it is with friends on the patio or accompanying a formal dinner. Whatever the time or place, Spann Vineyards will linger pleasurably on your palate and in your memory.”

Peter Spann and his wife Betsy have teamed up to make small production, handcrafted wines from their winery near Glen Ellen in Sonoma. Peter grew up in the New Orleans restaurant scene falling love with French wine. He moved to Dallas where he became a wine broker with Broadbent. He and his wife Betsy’s love of wine drove them westward to Sonoma where they own a tiny plot of land and now produce high quality wines of considerable customer demand—along with critical acclaim.
