Chip’s Is Still Closing

My post about Chip’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers on Cole closing drew a lot of closet real estate experts out of the walls. So I went back to the PR gal who (should) know more than you and she, one Ms. Alison Gross, e-mailed me back late last night and she says:

No they have not worked out a month to month lease as of now. Thank you.
Somebody in commercial real estate help me here: why would a landlord kick out a successful tenant in this economy? Many of you made great points yesterday about the other empty spaces within blocks of Chip’s. I’m going to find a real estate person to answer some of our questions. Be back at you later.
UPDATE: Chip’s on Cole will close on September 30th.
