The North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals (NTCAR) will induct Tobin Grove and Jerry Jones into the 2018 NTCAR Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, and Mickey Ashmore will receive the Michael F. McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award.
Toby Grove, who joined KDC in 1994, serves as the company’s president and oversees development, acquisition, and financing operations for its ongoing projects. With Grove at the helm, KDC has helped create CityLine, Legacy West’s corporate headquarters such as Toyota, JP Morgan Chase, Liberty Mutual, and FedEx. More recently, KDC partnered with Mike Hoque to create the forthcoming Dallas Smart District.
In addition to his high profile as owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones made significant contributions to the real estate landscape of North Texas through his company Blue Star Land. (Which is why D CEO named him our CEO of the Year in 2017.) Through his company, Jones engineered sites including the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, and The Star in Frisco. Blue Star Land holds 3,407 acres in close proximity to the Dallas North Tollway that are scheduled for future commercial and residential real estate.
As the recipient of the 2018 Michael F. McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award, Mickey Ashmore demonstrates dedication to community improvement and to real estate professional organizations, and charitable drive shown during the individual’s career, NTCAR contends. With a focus on mergers, acquisitions, and talent recruitment and improvement, Ashmore serves as the Chairman of Retail Services of the Americas at CBRE since its 2015 acquisition of Ashmore’s previous company, United Commercial Realty. He also founded the “Retail As Art” scholarship contest which provides academic funding for high school student photographers in the DFW area who best capture retail as an art form. Additionally, Ashmore holds affiliations with other charitable organizations such as The Family Place, Genesis Women’s Shelter, and CASA.
These men will be honored at the NTCAR Reunion and Hall of Fame event on May 10 at the Dallas Country Club. This year marks the Hall of Fame’s 30th anniversary.
