WeWork is expanding to Victory Park, becoming one of many co-working firms to grow its presence in DFW.
The new Dallas office at 3090 Olive St. will fill two floors in the Victory Plaza Office building. With an open floor plan, the location will have private office suites and communal working space for hundreds of members, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and divisions of large corporations. It is expected to open in early 2019.
WeWork’s new 52,000-square-foot location will be its sixth in DFW, a region that has between 50-60 coworking concepts. In North Texas, where it expanded in 2016, WeWork is the largest shared office space provider. The company has more than 100 locations across the globe.
“The combination of legacy companies and the newer wave of startups make Victory Park the perfect location for us,” WeWork Texas General Manager Nathan Lenahan said in a statement.
Victory Park, developed years ago by Ross Perot Jr., didn’t reach its expected level of popularity initially. But retail partner Trademark Property Co. and owner Estein USA have come in to reposition the neighborhood and are adding WeWork as part of a district redevelopment. Last fall, the property committed to a “full re-merchandising” by adding 85,000 square feet of retail space. Victory Park has opened an eight-screen, 750-seat movie theater and is adding several restaurants and bars.
“We are pleased that our efforts to create an attractive retail and entertainment district. … ,” Lance Fair, chief operating officer of Estein USA, said in a press release. “The rest of Victory Park will benefit from the addition of WeWork to the neighborhood.”
