Contemporary classic rockers Dr. Dog, indie sweethearts Best Coast and Wavves, and party guy of great renown Andrew W.K. are slated to perform at this year’s Oaktopia Music Festival, which revealed some of the bigger names on its lineup Wednesday on Twitter.

The festival has really come into its own as Denton’s most notable fall music event, and this early announcement — the rest of the lineup is forthcoming — bodes well for 2016.

Go here for scenes from last year’s festival.

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon. Oaktopia runs Sept. 22-24. Performances are outdoors in downtown Denton, and at various venues — not including the late, great Rubber Gloves and the dearly departed Hailey’s.
