Today has been pretty hectic for our friends in South by Southwest in the aftermath of last night’s fatal car crash, so please be sure to send some love Austin’s way. You can read more about the crash here. Definitely wishing all SXSW attendees and staff a safe and secure celebration.

Here are some of tonight’s concerts:

Elton John: With a career spanning over five decades and 300 million albums, Elton John has been a true testament to the longevity of good pop music. His latest release, 2013’s The Diving Board, earned him yet another Top 10 spot on the Billboards 200 charts and is the backbone of his The Million Dollar Experience tour, which will stretch across six different months of 2014.  He’ll be bringing his “million-dollar piano” and some of his greatest hits to American Airlines Center tonight; expect a good night of music and consistency.

2 Chainz: 2013 was a great year for 2 Chainz: his new album BOATS II: Me Time landed him a Top 10 spot on the Billboard charts, featured collaborations with some of the biggest names in rap music, and cemented his place as a hit maker in the hip-hop stratosphere.  In support of his recent release, the Atlanta-based rapper will be touring through the Southeast before jetting off to London in the summer. Dallas’ festivities will take place at Southside Music Hall with rapper Pusha T and R&B vocalist August Alsina supporting.

Boyfriend: Formed in 2011, this six-piece K-pop boy band will be hosting the first of two United States showcases at the Verizon Theatre before completing the mini-tour in Chicago. This advancement is a sure delight for American K-pop fans, who purchased tickets in droves to see the popular performers. A successful night will no doubt mean more appearances in the future from the band on the American touring circuit, and hopefully an easier transition for similar K-pop artists.

As always, Colly T will be playing his VIBE residency at The Beauty Bar, as will DJ Sober with his Basement residency at The Travis; DJ Spacechase’s “Subtronic Indulgences” will bring its bill of artists to Andy’s, and DJ Rob Viktum’s weekend residency will begin at The Slip Inn.
