Oct. 9

Spam Kid Chef Contest. As was the case in the Great American Spam Contest, entries for this event must contain Spam, macaroni, cheese, and up to seven other ingredients. The difference? Only children ages 7 to 17 can enter. Entries accepted at 9 a.m., judging at 10:30 a.m. Contest Kitchen, Creative Arts Department.

Oct. 10

Tex-Mex Contest. In this town, everyone has an opinion on Tex-Mex food. Even though this show is for amateurs only, you can expect to see some delectable dishes. Entries accepted at 9 a.m., judging at 10:30 a.m. Contest Kitchen, Creative Arts Pavilion.

The Wolf Brand Chili Taste of Texas Showdown. The person who creates the winning appetizer, entrée, or side dish in this eagerly anticipated contest will bring home a hearty $2,500 and serious bragging rights. Entries accepted at 9 a.m., judging at 10:30 a.m. Contest Kitchen, Creative Arts Department.
