Thanks to the music service Shazam, D Magazine‘s FrontRow will bring you the exclusive Shazam Top Twenty for Dallas each week.

We’re kicking-off a new feature this week, an exclusive look at the most listened to songs in Dallas, brought to you by Shazam. This week the biggest song locally is Lorde’s “Royals,” which lands at number one on the local charts. It’s interesting that the track is performing so well in Dallas, what with this city’s reputation for ostentation,  $30K millionaires, and class envy — but we won’t make too much of that. On the new release top ten chart for the USA, it’s Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home” beating out the latest from Enrique Iglesias. And on the overall national charts, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” holds off Jay Z’s “Holy Grail.” And if you’re curious, Avicii is ruling Europe and the rest of the world right now with top spots on the UK, Canadian, German, and French charts, and number two in Australia, with his snore and strum non-anthem “Wake Me Up.” That’s reason enough to point to this feature on the young electro-superstar in a recent GQ (oh, and sure, here’s mention of the oontz, oontz king’s dissatisfaction with that article).

Here are the top 20s, followed by videos of the most popular songs right now, locally and nationally. Check back every Tuesday for latest trending local tracks.
