Night baseball came to Dallas on May 15, 1931, at Oak Cliff Stadium when the Dallas Steers played the Houston Buffaloes before 10,000 fans. The owner of the Steers paid $30,000 for more than a hundred reflectors, each holding 1,500-watt lamps atop five massive 120-foot steel poles. Dallas won, 4-2.
