Saudi, Neighbor

|

Move over, Ross Perot-Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia may be moving to town. Two years ago Ellen Terry Realtor Dave Perry-Miller and an attorney representing the Saudi royal family looked at several locations in Preston Hollow. The final decision was made by a Faisal kinsman, who met Perry-Miller at the Grand Kem-pinski with an entourage of three black stretch limousines and several armed guards.

The royal nod went to a 5,000-square-foot ranch house on Meadowwood, built in the ’50s and once owned by former Gov. Bill Clements and his first wife. The 3.5 acres (including a 1.8 acre vacant lot next door) were listed for the princely sum of $2.95 million, though the final sale price is a secret. Attorney Larry Fossi, who handled the purchase through a Washington, D. C.-based holding company, would not confirm who the ultimate buyer was.

So far, no word on when the Saudi monarch plans to visit his new home. He might want to mosey down the street and meet his new neighbors-one is Lee Raymond, president of Exxon Corp. Will Meadowwood become known as Oil Alley?
