Coronavirus deaths have topped 500,000 in the US, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The U.S. reached the grim milestone Monday, just over one year since the first COVID-19 case was reported in the country. 


Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine is 85% effective just 15-28 days after the first dose, according to a study by The Lancet journal, reports WFAA. The vaccine is effective in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 cases and 75% effective when asymptomatic cases were included too, but researchers stressed more data is needed on the long-term effectiveness of single doses to determine whether second doses should be delayed.
