35 deaths from COVID-19 in Dallas County amid significant interruption in vaccine supply due to the storm.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 383 new COVID-19 cases and 35 deaths on Wednesday, though power outages have disrupted reporting and made totals artificially low.


Dallas County’s vaccination site at Fair Park will be closed until Saturday, as freezing temperatures remain in the forecast through the end of the week. The county reassured residents that they will have sufficient supply for second doses as needed.


President Joe Biden made it his goal to administer 100 million doses of COVID-19 in his first 100 days in office, but vaccinations are averaging 1.7 million per day so far, exceeding the goal. WFAA has more on the vaccination rates.


KERA is reporting on the difficulty health officials are having vaccination homeless populations around the country. Even before the pandemic, these populations were difficult to track. But with added stress due to COVID-19, officials are struggling to vaccinate some of the most vulnerable among us.
