Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,179 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with eight deaths. Deaths included individuals in their 60s through 80s with a mix of underlying high-risk health conditions.
Tarrant County saw over 1,400 confirmed cases on Tuesday with six new deaths. The county has now seen over 102,000 cases since the beginning of the pandemic with nearly 850 deaths. Just under 900 people are hospitalized in the county due to the virus, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Texas is experiencing an “unsustainable increase in hospitalizations,” according to the White House Coronavirus Task Force. A new report from the task force called for significantly reduced indoor capacity and both publicly and privately owned establishments. New information showed over three-fourths of Texas counties experiencing moderate or high viral transmission levels, The Texas Tribune reported.
Nearly six months after recovery, some COVID-19 patients are still experiencing symptoms from the virus. Brain fog, fatigue, depression, PTSD and more have been found in multiple COVID-19 “long-haulers,” or individuals dealing with symptoms months after initial infection, The Texas Standard reported.
