Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 588 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday with two deaths. Deaths included individuals in their 70s and 90s. Jenkins cautioned against lessening COVID-19 vigilance while entering the holiday season.
Texas’ COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan indicates that most Texans won’t have access to the vaccine until July of 2021. A COVID-19 vaccine is predicted to be ready next month with prioritized distribution to vulnerable individuals, The Texas Tribune reported.
Tarrant County reported a 12 percent COVID-19 positivity rate. Over 14 percent of hospital beds are currently occupied by COVID-19 patients, the highest hospitalization rate since August, the Fort-Worth Star Telegram reported.
Police reports revealed further details about the death of a Garland woman who died due to COVID-19 on a domestic flight in June. A crew member had performed CPR on the woman during the flight, but eventually fainted from exhaustion, The Dallas Morning News reported.
