Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 152 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths on Thursday. While three of the deaths had been hospitalized, four were found in their homes. Judge Jenkins encouraged everyone to continue wearing their mask at all times when around non-household members.
Among the seven deaths on Thursday, one was of a pregnant woman in her 40s with no underlying high-risk health conditions. She died in a Dallas hospital emergency room, CBS News reported.
Parkland Hospital closed its COVID-19 response unit due to declining cases and hospitalizations in Dallas. While the hospital previously relied on this extra surgical space, it is now able to treat COVID-19 in individual patient rooms, NBC News reported.
Following the move of Dallas’ threat level to orange, Dallas ISD rolled out new plans for students return to campuses. Students will potentially return in phases as outlined by the district, The Dallas Morning News reported.
