Let’s talk shop!

Krewe’s Summer Fridays at Black Optical | Friday

Maybe you discovered Krewe sunglasses all on your own because you’re a savvy shopper who can recognize great style immediately. Good for you. I, on the other hand, discovered the New Orleans-based label stalking famous people on Instagram (there are plenty of celeb cosigners for Krewe, but this time it was goddess Elizabeth Chambers Hammer). Even better, the lens line was founded by SMU grad Stirling Barret. Ponies forever.

Currently, only New Orleans, Austin, Manhattan, and Alys Beach have brick-and-mortars, but Dallas’ Black Optical off Knox Street does have a substantial Krewe shop-within-a-shop, and is hosting a trunk show for the brand from 10am to 6pm this Friday.

 Konēko Studio’s Vegan Pop-Up | Sunday

In addition to offering high-quality tattoo, microblading, eyelash extension, and piercing services, Konēko Studio was created to be a haven for vegans with its curated selection of cruelty-free bath and body products. The goal is to eventually expand to a brick-and-mortar, but a pop-up featuring vegan groceries from Lucky Mouth, vegan tamales, local grown micro greens, and Eboniblu’s vegan jewelry from noon to 6pm will more than satisfy for now.

Embroidery 101 with Babes Never Die | Sunday

You’d be forgiven for not inherently knowing what a company called Babes Never Die sells. All that matters is that you do now—adorable, handmade and embroidered small goods for women, with an occasional empowering message (these rainbow stickers are a must-have). Take note, babes, and head to Flea Style’s Deep Ellum headquarters this Sunday for a little face time with BND founder Jessica Dorrell.
