A Dallas Tweener is More Successful Than All of Us

Pieces from Kelly Alexandra’s jewelry line have been draped around the necks of Dallas socialites, appeared on Good Morning Texas, and now sell at The Revolving Door and online at www.theartaddict.com (check out her complete portfolio at www.kellyalexandra.com). And she’s only 12 years old. Alexandra got her start at age 9, when she enlisted in adult-only classes at Momminia Art Gallery in Cold Springs, New York. She sold her first piece to local stylist Barry Martin for $150 this past April.  That drove her to design more. The collection is handmade by Alexandra herself and ranges in price from $80 to $750. Her signature pieces include decoupage beads, 9-foot-long silver chains replete with rock crystals and vintage glass beads, and a Brazilian agate focal pendant surrounded by rock crystal nuggets. Alexandra designs her line while attending public school in the Dallas area—and modeling for Kim Dawson. She hopes one day to adorn Kate Winslet, Drew Barrymore, and Gwen Stefani. But for now she can’t design anything until “after I do my homework.”
