Kellie Weaver Cashon credits her elegant grandmother and impeccably styled mother for instilling an appreciation for fashion. “I remember my mom telling me to buy the best shoes [I could] and take care of them,” says the 36-year-old. More than 100 pairs of shoes—gently stuffed with tissue paper and arranged by color—line the shelves of a closet that would make her mother proud.

Although Cashon frequents Dallas boutiques Carla Martinengo, Sebastian, Linus Lounge, Calypso, Scoop, and Intermix, she gets the rest of her fashion fix from the Internet. “I cruise stores online from 10 to 12, most nights,” she says. Some of her favorites include eBay.com, poshvintage.com, eluxury.com, and net-a-porter.com.
The former fifth-grade teacher has a penchant for vintage and has made a habit of tracking down unique pieces from her favorite designers, such as Diane von Furstenberg and Ungaro. (She bought her first Ungaro set at age 14 with babysitting money. It’s still hanging in her closet.) However, Dolce and Gabbana is Cashon’s top line of choice. “It doesn’t matter what store I’m in. I can find [D&G] instinctively.”
She scours antique malls—she has scored some serious costume jewelry at Forestwood Antique Mall—and she’s a repeat customer of Kimonos Source Chunny, a New York woman who sells authentic vintage Japanese kimonos through eBay.
This fall, Cashon has her eye on a dove gray ostrich-skin bag by Kingsley Handbags. She gets most of her style inspiration by browsing through magazines and look books, and by taking the advice of her wardrobe consultant, Nancy Klompus. “I keep it simple,” she says. “But I’ll be daring and go a little funky, to keep people on their toes.”
