Hot Property: AIA Dallas Tour Home, ‘The House on Taos’

If you’re a religious D Home reader, this contemporary Bluffview home might ring a few visual bells. Dubbed “The House on Taos” by architects Sean Garman and Kelly Mitchell, the deceptively expansive home was one of the ten we highlighted during last year’s AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, and with its innovative design and killer courtyard, it was surely a standout.

Of course, now that’s it freshly on the market, we’re looking at 4411 Taos Road in a whole new light. We’ve begun imagining a life where we could view our Wolf gas cooktop, living room, and heated pool all from the comfort of our first floor master bedroom. (Thanks, glass corridors.) We’ve enjoyed envisioning visitors’ faces when they realize this seemingly modest-sized home is actually a collection of five separate-but-connected buildings lining a double-size lot. (More room for the courtyard and pool.)

Mainly, we imagine the pride we’d feel living in an AIA Dallas showcase home, knowing that many a tour goer had admired our minimalist steel frame windows or had deep discussions about the encaustic tile in our guest bathroom. (We’re a little bit vain that way.)

Now if we could only dream up a way to quickly earn $2,600,000 in expendable cash, we’d be all set.

By the Numbers
  • 4411 Taos Road
  • $2,599,000
  • 4,723 Square Feet
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 4.1 Bathrooms
  • 1 Fireplace
  • 3 Covered Parking Spaces
