Despite bleak economic news, designer Cory Pope—displaying steady nerves and thoughtful optimism—has opened a 5,500-square-foot multiline showroom at the International Center on Turtle Creek Boulevard. Pope’s design history includes five years with William Horton Designs; creating interiors for stores such as Chanel, Gucci, and Prada; and a dozen years with Design Solutions doing projects like the Trump Tower in New York City. Pope’s sense of the theatrical is everywhere—special recessed floor and ceiling lighting, elaborate Jacob Schlaepfer fabrics suspended from fishing line, and enlarged graphic photographs by Eloide Sandford stretched on canvas. The result: a fresh and creative space that offers Dallas designers access to a number of new collections. Cory Pope & Associates. 150 Turtle Creek Blvd., Ste. 205. 214-981-9119. www.corypope.com.
