Everyone knows that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but come spring, it’s all about the statement necklace. Costume jewelry is making a comeback. Runway designers such as Christopher Bailey (Burberry) and independent jewelry artists such as Megan Marrin (M. Graves Jewelry) are adorning necks with bold and ornate accessories. Bailey found inspiration in his Yorkshire garden for Burberry’s Prorsum spring 2009 collection, while Marrin incorporates 19th-century porcelain doll heads from Germany and vintage finds from around the world into her whimsical line of handmade jewelry that is making its Dallas debut at Sartel.

Beauty note: to get this look, use Armani “Fluid Master” makeup primer, Nars “Cap Vert” multiple bronzer, Nars “Night Sun” and “Grenadines” eye shadows, Nars “Hungry Heart” blush duo, Chanel “Magic Night” ombre essentielle eye shadow, Chanel “brun cuivre” eye definer, Tigi’s “brunette” brow pencil, and Nars “Shrinagar” lipstick under Nars “Sweet Revenge” gloss.
