Have you ever met someone with such impeccable style that she could make, oh, say a paper bag look so covetable and chic that you’d go running for the grocery store to copy the look?  Dallas mom and designer Janet Gridley has precisely that sort of style.

Janet cut her creative chops as a stylist and art director, building elaborate sets in advertising, film and print.  But she was heartbroken when it came time to strike the sets she’d worked so hard to create. So she turned her creative energy to interior design – creating artful interiors designed to stand the test of time.  These days, she lends her signature boho-meets-modern style to residential and commercial projects across the country (and to the occassional photo shoot that is just too cool to pass up – think Blu Dot.)

We’re pretty smitten with Janet’s slightly offbeat interiors and expect we’ll all be hearing more about this seriously talented lady.  For now, here’s a look into the well-edited world she shares with her husband, David, and son, Henry (age 7).  Have a fantastic weekend, friends.

In heavy rotation- Rolling Stones, Let it Bleed; Best Coast, Crazy for You;  Beastie Boys, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

On Your Nightstand- Dr. Haushka’s Lip Balm, Willa Cather’s My Antonia,  Momufoku, a cookbook by an unconventional chef that reads like a cliff-hanger

Always in Your handbag- Ray Ban Craft Outsdoorsman sunglasses, Chanel gloss in “giggle”, Zantac and Lego

Go-to outfit- J. Crew floral bubble skirt, White Paul Smith Camp Shirt, flat sandlals and jewelry from Sayulita Mexico, vintage Pulsar LED watch.

No brainer restaurant- Bolsa with family, friends or a date; Nonna, (around 5:30, when dinner service begins) when my son wants pizza and I want something more adult; Fuel City Elote Cart for lunch on the go.
