When I Went: May 23-27, 2013

Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? Yes, but perhaps summer could be better. The weather was beautiful and only during one of the five days it rained. When the sun did come out, there was a cool breeze with warm sunlight, perfect for all the walking you do throughout the city.

Why I Went There: Rangers baseball and to visit the city.

Who Went With Me? My Husband.

We Stayed Here: The W Hotel

You Won’t Want to Miss: The Experience Music Project, or the EMP, one of the best museums I’ve attended, not only for the exhibits but, it truly is an experience. You start with history lessons on musicians and guitars, but you end the museum with hands-on fun learning instruments, vocals, and putting sounds together.

Eat Here: Tom Douglas’ The Dahlia Lounge. Tom owns several restaurants in Seattle, but we only visited this one. We loved everything: our small bites, the fresh local salmon, and the coconut cream pie.

Play Here: Nordstrom, of course! It’s the original flagship, and I’m not sure what vacation doesn’t involve a little bit of shopping.

If I Went Again: Stay longer! I feel like there was much more to eat, to see, and to drink than we could fit in four days. We got the typical touristy things done, but I’d love to have visited the Boeing Museum and hiked at Mount Rainer.

How Did You Get There From Dallas? We flew American Airlines.

Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: Seattle is full of wonderful people, and the city has done a lot to make it a great tourist location. Take advantage of their improvements and make it a place to visit on your bucket list.
