If you haven’t been, it’s time to hit downtown to visit Traffic’s most recently opened shop, the women’s wear store. The men’s side, which opened in March, is expansive, with a loft overlooking the first floor, and industrial, with its exposed beams and warm wood. The ladies’ side is smaller, brighter, and cleanly edited into a handful of brands. A couple lines are shared with local boutiques, but the selection is a departure from those of next-door shopping icon, Neiman Marcus. Staple brands include Kenzo (famed tiger sweaters in stock); Iro’s beautifully tailored dresses and jackets (the textured “Maiden” jacket with zippers and leather panels rings up at only $950); Reception’s funky tees; my favorite, Ann Demeulemeester, and her edgy monochromatic staple pieces; Unconditional and a slew of blazers; and leather handbags by Valas and Jerome Dreyfuss. The biggest selection comes from Isabel Marant, who has developed a cult-like following with die-hard fashion lovers. The shoe collection comes mostly from Marant, and yes, the beloved sneaker wedges are totally available. It’s an all-occasion kind of affair with dresses, separates, denim from Goldsign, investment pieces, jewelry, and a giftables. Might want to pop in and start making your Christmas wish list.
