Starbucks Tackles Tea

I’m not a coffee drinker. Don’t like the taste. Don’t even like the smell. When I go to Starbucks, I order tea, which is never a bad choice. I love tea. But it’s so boring. “One tall tea, please” can never compare to “I’ll have a venti, two pump vanilla, non-fat, extra hot latte.” So g-l-a-m—o-r—o-u-s (oh, the flossy, flossy).

At last, my day of ordering a fancy Starbucks drink has finally arrived. Five new tea offerings were unveiled last Saturday: three “Full Leaf Tazo Tea Lattes” and two “Tazo Tea Infusions.” I sampled the London Fog Latte this morning, and I’m a happy camper. It’s got black tea, bergamot (had to wiki that one), lavender, vanilla, and steamed milk. Other options are the Vanilla Rooibos Latte, perfect for those who prefer decaf, and the Black Tea Latte. Not into milk in your tea? Try the Berry Chai Infusion (fruity and spicy, just like it sounds) or the Apple Chai Infusion, with apple juice, black tea, and sweet spices.

Notably, most have fewer than 200 calories for a tall and provide more antioxidants than an 8-ounce glass of orange juice. And a tall tea latte contains 20 percent of the recommended daily calcium intake. IJS.
