If 1977 brings you a windfall of between $35,000 and $40,000 that you don’t know what to do with, here’s a suggestion: Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a new car to the United States in about March or April of next year with that price tag. Hal Hinze of Mercedes-Benz’ headquarters in New Jersey confirmed that a 6.9 liter Mercedes similar to the 450 SEL will soon be available. All options will come as standard equipment on this model. The European version comes equipped with a special suspension system that allows the car to be raised or lowered depending on driving needs. Mr. Hinze is not sure how that suspension system would be modified to fit American standards. If you’re interested, hurry and place your order. Fewer than 1,000 of these cars will be delivered to the United States.
